Private Lessons

Beginners “Lifestyle Skills™” Obedience
For Puppies (after 3rd set of shots) & Any Age Adult Dogs

Description: A series of classes designed to teach your dog basic manners in the house, as well as, out in public. MerryMac teaches you “lifestyle” exercises so that what you learn is implemented into your individual lifestyle.

The class includes:

  • Fitting of Appropriate Training Collar – “Gentle Leader”/ ”Easy Walk”
  • Clothesline Leash & the “Leather” Leash – Why 2 leashes?
  • The Theory of Clicker Training (without the Clicker)
  • Lure Reward Training – A very useful tool to have in your toolkit!
  • “Wait” & “Leave-It”
  • “Let’s Walk” - walking formally at your left side, without pulling!
  • “Sit” – at your side, for awhile!
  • “Sit” for Meet-n-Greets – greeting people without jumping!
  • “Down” – the “Leadership” exercise
  • “Down-Stay” with “Spot” - dogs will be holding 30 minute Down-Stay’s by graduation!
  • “Come” – two exercises including with distractions & distance
  • Socialization Time – with most every class

On the first Beginner’s lesson, we will personally fit & size your dog with his/her training collar and leash.* This is essential for communicating with your pet during training and beyond.

Private lesson fees are paid at time of lesson.

Proof of vaccinations are necessary required on the first day of class.

*Please note that the class fee price does not include the required training collar, leather leash or clothesline leash. This equipment is sold separately at MerryMac Dog Training.
